As there is every 1. May, there was a Beetle Meet (Käfertreffen) yesterday in Eggenburg, Lower Austria. Many excellent examples of the breed were there to be seen and enjoyed. It is truly amazing the run of popularity that this auto has enjoyed.
We were out for a walk in the nearby town of Eggenburg, when my wife spotted this on the 3rd story of a building about a block off the main square. It appears to be a replica of the famous, “Manneken Pis” in Brussels, Belgium. As to why it is sitting in a niche in a house, 20 meters above the street in a small town in Austria, your guess is as good as mine. A close-up extracted from the image follows.
